THE STAFF OF PARKWAY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Rev. Kevin J. Cameron began his service at Parkway UCC in September 2004.   Before his arrival at Parkway, he served as Pastor of Ivanhoe United Church of Christ in Raytown, (a suburb of Kansas City) MO.  Previously, Rev. Cameron was the Associate Pastor at Norfield Congregational United Church of Christ in Weston, CT from 1993-1998.

Rev. Cameron was ordained in the United Church of Christ in Massachusetts.  He was born in 1966, raised in Quincy, MA, and graduated from Brandeis University in 1988.  He received a Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological Seminary in Newton, MA in 1993.  Kevin is happily married to Carmen Bumgarner and is the very proud father of Maya (8), Tavis (6), Iris (4) and Dexter (1).  They live in Ballwin -- close to Sorrento Springs Elementary School.  Read Pastor Kevin’s Self Appraisal and Statement on Ministry.  Email Kevin@parkwayucc.org

Joseph R. Rowley served as Pastor of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Labadie, Missouri since September of 2005.  Prior to serving at Pilgrim UCC, Joe served as Clinical Pastoral Education Intern at the Laclede Groves Senior Living Center. Joe was also a Student Youth Minister at St. Johns UCC in Mehlville, where he provided weekly Church School for High School aged youths, monthly discussion groups, assisted parents in planning annual retreats as well as youth-led worship services among many other activities.  Joe co-directed summer camp at Camp MoVal of the Missouri Mid-South Conference for 5th and 6th graders and middle schoolers in the summers of 2005 and 2006. He will serve at MoVal again this summer.  Joe graduated valedictorian from a very small rural high school in southern Wisconsin. He graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee with honors in English Literature and Social Philosophy, with minors in Environmental Ethics and Theology. He received a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in May of 2007. Another important part of who I am is that I’m married to Jessica, my partner in ministry and life. Engaging in ministry as an Ecumenical Catholic Community Christian, Jess challenges my thoroughly Protestant theological assumptions, even as we support each other’s ministries. Jess and I love to drink coffee, eat great food, share our ministerial triumphs and frustrations, watch movies (buttered popcorn is a non-negotiable), travel, and hike in beautiful places together. Jess is an ordained deacon, and was ordained a priest by Saints Clare and Francis Ecumenical Catholic Community on September 9, 2007.   Joe came to Parkway in July, 2007.  You can email Joe at Joe@parkwayucc.org

Alan Stein – Informal Worship

Alan started service with PUCC in 1998 after being asked by John Nourse if he happened to play piano.  He happened to do that a bit, so one thing led to another and he found himself in 1999 "on the bench," so to speak, and has been there ever since.  His joy and passion is writing music and working with the 11:00 singers called Random Act, and is so very fortunate to be part of this congregation.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois in Theory and Composition, and for the last 28 years has worked for Busch Entertainment Corporation.  In 1990 he moved to St. Louis, where he is currently Corporate Director of Entertainment.  Prior to that he taught music at the University of Illinois and the University of Richmond.  He is married to figure-skating-coach Shelley, and--along with wonderful son, Spencer--lives in Creve Coeur.

Carol Wilbois – Parish Nurse

I was raised in St. Louis and attended Maplewood/Richmond Heights High School.  Following graduation I attended the University of Illinois school of Nursing in Chicago where I met Ron, a Pharmacy student from Chicago.  We married in my fourth year of nursing school and in his first year of medical school.  We moved to St. Louis with our girls, Kim and Kristy, where Ron served his internship at Jewish Hospital.  He was drafted into the military after the internship and was assigned to Brooke Army Hospital at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.  Eventually Ron was sent to Viet Nam so the girls and I returned to St. Louis to live with my parents.

We joined Parkway in 1974.  In 1985 I initiated the Good Neighbor/Good Samaritan program and offered a 12-week training program for our visitors that were to reach out to the ill and home-bound.  Shortly thereafter I was called about a new field of nursing being offered at Deaconess.  I was in the first class of three potential Parish Nurses.  Today the foundation supports 38 salaried nurses and several volunteers.  Deaconess Foundation recognized type of nursing focuses on the total persons well-being, physical, emotional, and spiritual.  Besides my nursing I have been trained as a Chaplain’s assistant and for 15 years have volunteered in the Department of Pastoral Care at Missouri Baptist Hospital.  In 2006 I spent a month volunteering in the Philippines and hope one day to return and see how the programs are going.

We have four grandchildren ranging in age from 17 down to one year old.  I love to cook, garden, read, play golf, tennis, and any type of board or card game.
